Spray a little amount of the scent-spray on the newspaper. Let the pup move around the area and acheive a degree of comfort. Once the puppy has finished its business, gently guide its head to the spot you sprayed the agent so it's close enough for the puppy to sniff the scent. Repeat this for about 90 days every time the puppy needs to go potty.

Performing the aforementioned steps can result in either two results or both. The puppy can associate urinating and defecating to a news paper or the scent, this means that whenever the puppy needs to do its business it will either look for a newspaper or sniff around for that scent, either result leads to properly potty trained puppies and worry free maintenance for you.
